Penny + Giles was founded in 1956 out of a partnership between Professor William A Penny and Mr James A Giles, where they identified a demand for instrumentation in the aviation industry for high precision, high reliability wire-wound potentiometric devices for customers engaged in aircraft flight testing. Our product range includes linear and rotary position sensors; LVDT and RVDT transducers; joystick controllers; studio faders; digital panel meters; solenoids; cockpit voice and flight data recorders; air data test sets; pitot-static leak testers; ice & snow detection systems.

DML300 Single Channel LVDT Panel Indicator
The DML300 series of digital panel indicators is designed specifically for use with LVDT transducers. DML300 series indicators have a five digit display, transducer excitation supply and many software features including max/min memory and math functions. All models are fitted with two analogue outputs - a high speed analogue output for monitoring fast changes of sensor movement, and a separate, electrically isolated, scaleable analogue output.
DMP200 Single Channel Digital Panel Indicator
The DMP200 can be used for both simple ´measurement only´ applications and in more demanding situations requiring digital communications, alarms, maths functions and complex signal conditioning. Ideally suited to operate with Penny & Giles linear and rotary potentiometers, providing a 10 Vdc or 0-12 Vdc transducer supply. This model is also suited to operate with thermocouples and RTDs, as well as pressure transducers, load cells and strain gauges.

JC150 Rugged Single-Axis Joystick
The JC150 was designed for demanding operator control applications in off-highway vehicles and other man-machine interfaces, where lever strength, signal reliability, and handle functionality are important.
JC1500 Rugged Single Axis Contactless Joystick
The JC1500 joystick utilises contactless rotary position sensor technology combined with a rugged, low profile design. The JC1500 is intended for use in the off-highway specialist vehicles market - particularly where reliability and strength are paramount e.g. Aerial Work Platforms. Features analog or PWM output, with optional detents and center or friction lock options.
JC200 Multi-Axis Inductive Joystick
The JC200 has been designed for use with a separate valve driver card or machine control unit. Safety features include a lever mechanism that returns to the centre position when released and internal fault monitoring circuits. Typical applications include the control of wheelchairs, fork lift trucks and agricultural machinery.
JC2000 Multi-Axis Contactless Joystick
The JC2000 is designed for precision fingertip control applications where safety and long trouble-free life are primary requirements. Available in one, two or three axis configurations and can accommodate a choice of handles, including push-button switch versions.
JC300 Multi-Axis Fingertip Joystick
Designed for use with an electronic controller, the JC300 can be specified to generate up to five switched outputs per half axis, or analogue and switched reference signals. Available in single, dual, or three axis.
JC3000 Single and Dual axis Fingertip Joystick
For applications requiring a simplistic approach to fingertip control where strength and reliability are important. Comes in single or dual axis & various user defined features.
JC400 Multi-Axis Fingertip Joystick
Developed for use in applications where compact size and functionality are important, the JC400 with analogue output offers proportional fingertip control in up to three axes, while the JC400 with Digital Output option offers switched fingertip control with sequential detent feel.
JC6000 Rugged Multi-Axis Joystick
The JC6000 is designed for demanding operator control applications in off-highway vehicles and other man-machine interfaces, where strength, reliability, and handle functionality are important. It is available with one or two axis configurations and can be supplied with Hall effect sensors or potentiometer tracks.

AF111 LVDT Displacement Transducer
Suitable for clamp mounting, the AF111 has a threaded, unguided core assembly to simplify installation. The transducer coil has been specifically designed to reduce overall transducer length and to enable high accuracy.

Linear Position Sensors - Potentiometers
HLP190 Spring Loaded Linear Potentiometer
The HLP190 linear potentiometers has a body diameter of only 19mm with stroke lengths from 25mm to 150mm, and a choice of body clamp (BS) or flange (FS) mounting. This model is supplied with a spring loaded shaft, biased to the fully extended position.

SRH220DR Contactless Rotary Sensor

It is housed in an all-new moulded housing with separate supply voltage and output signals on two channels. Environmental protection to IP67/IP68 is dependent on the connector style selected.

SRH500P Contactless Rotary Sensor

TPS280DP Throttle Position Sensor
TPS280DP is mechanically interchangeable with most existing throttle potentiometers using 32mm mounting centers and is designed to interface with most common throttle body D type spindles. The sensor has a choice of 200 or 500mm cable lengths, with or without an MSS4P Mini Sure Seal connector fitted to the FDR-25 sheathed spec 55A cable. With sealing to IP69K, it is also able to withstand high pressure wash-downs.

SRS880 Submersible Rotary Potentiometer

EICT Signal Conditioning Module
The EICT signal conditioning module has been specifically designed to operate with the ICT and SLT190 range of contactless linear position transducers. The module operates from a 10-60 Vdc supply voltage and provides a range of outputs which can be configured by the user.
SCM100 Signal Conditioner
The SCM100 LVDT signal conditioning module has been designed specifically to operate with the AF111 and AF145 range of LVDTs, and to make using an LVDT as simple as using a linear potentiometer. Capable of providing a range of voltage or current output signals.
SSC Signal Conditioning Module
The new Penny+Giles model SSC is a Sensor Signal Conditioning unit housed in an IP68 protected metal enclosure. It is suitable for use with any sensor that produces a dc output signal voltage in the range 0 - 5Vdc. The SSC also provides a 5Vdc source that may be used as a supply for many types of sensors.
UCM Universal Signal Conditioner
The new Penny+Giles model UCM is a low voltage dc powered Universal Conditioning Module designed to operate with a wide range of LVDTs, RVDTs and other analogue inductive transducer types. The set-up is simple and flexible, allowing user adjustment of excitation voltage and frequency, operating mode, span output and zero position, as well as configuration for multiple unit synchronisation.

STT280 Sealed Tilt Sensor
